Fireplace mantel is only used during the winter seasons that last only about two months in a year. Is the fireplace abandon during other seasons? The answer might be a yes from most of us.
Of course, everyone would prefer the windy air in spring or a relaxing sunbath in summer time and perhaps watching leaves falling in autumn. No one would want to light up the fire when the temperature is just fine.
Apparently, everyone just leave the fireplace mantel untouched during the rest of the year. However, being not useful in other seasons doesn’t mean the fireplace is useless. Think about it, how warm it was during winter at your home when the wood in the fireplace is burning.
